Many women turn to breast enhancement, or breast enlargement,
to improve underdeveloped, saggy, or asymmetrical breasts.
Some patients may have had these undesirable characteristics
since birth, while others have developed them with age or as
a result of pregnancy and nursing.
There are three locations at which a breast enhancement
incision may be made. You and your Orange County doctor
will discuss the benefits of each during the consultation
to determine which is best for you. The incision may be
made on the side of the breasts, through the armpits; along
the lower border of the areola (pigmented portion of
the nipple); or in the natural crease in the fold beneath
the breasts.
Some Orange County breast enhancement surgeons perform
this procedure endoscopically (camera-assisted) for a less
invasive approach. You should discuss this option with
your doctor during the consultation.
Breast enhancement is usually performed on an outpatient
basis under general anesthesia.
